Forms are a series of moves, strikes, kicks and stances that enable our bodies to experience the various ranges of movements that are possible, thus allowing our bodies muscles to retain a memory effect. As with anything that is done repeatedly we become smoother with less hesitation or thought in our reactions.

All of our forms are taught by hand, meaning no weapons other than yourself are used, though all of them can be worked with any of the weapons used in kung-fu such as the staff, short sticks {escrima}, swords, sai's, ect... as the video below shows.

Forms are important to us, as it conditions our bodies, as well as our minds to work as one, A Cross-Step can be a complicated move for someone who's natural sense of balance is week, taking your right foot and stepping across your left foot so that you're standing cross legged, bending your knees, and striking all in one motion can be difficult. But, through form we can train our body, strengthen our natural balance, and train our minds to work together.

For those who have been in San Soo for any length of time, I'm sure they will recognize the following Form pages, It seems they were created by someone back in the early days of San Soo, (If you know who created them and how to get a hold of that person please pass it along to us, I'd like to thank them).

It is my intention to in someway help with the dissemination of information for this art, between all the San Soo artists out there.  I believe that what I am being taught is and will continue to be the best training and information our studio can put out, But I also realize that without communication between all of us we will lose bits and pieces over time.

As part of that, below you will find Form Sheets that I've been given, and I will add more as I get them. If you have others and would like to contribute to this body of knowledge please contact me.

One note, our studio has numbered our forms as have many other studios that I'm aware of, as such you may recognize a form, but not the number we've assigned to it.
